The novel's passed 20,000 words. I guess it's moved from a zygote to a foetus now? 

I want it to go to college and move out, the sooner the better. 

Writing is painfully slow, given I've done almost nothing else this week, but hey, any progress is progress. I'm not unhappy with what I've produced, either, though obviously it's only a first draft and will need tones of work to shape it. 

And, on the lighter note, I've just typed this into a chapter (my MC has been thrust into a command role she's distinctly not comfortable with):

 

I read a story once where a junior officer had an experienced one implanted into her head. It seemed crazy, but now I could definitely use some advice on the whole "command" thing.

 

 

Any idea where I could have got TAHT from? :D

Ha! I use your 2k per day accounts as motivation! I never get that much. Usually 1-1.5/day. It's just been more time than you think!

Yes, I like Scrivener for that as well. And the lovely/annoying "ping" you get when you've reached your target... (annoying when you cut something afterwards and "ping!" you're back under!)

I always tell myself "slow progress is still progress." Any number of words/day is infinitely better than 0 words/day. (And I've had those days from time to time!)

I need to do that! Our internet was down a good chunk of yesterday while I was writing is why I didn't join earlier. Need to get some lunch into me first, though!

Scrivener does a "ping"? Is this the new version? I'm still using the old version on my Mac...I like auditory feedback, though, and have been wondering if it's worth upgrading. XD

Scrivener does a "ping"?

I have the new version so I don't remember if it was there in the old one--it's in the "options" in the word-target pop up window, under "show target notifications." ("Show," because it's a little notification widget that does "ping!")
