Things have got a bit blah. Nothing in particular, just the usual. The idea for the new novel now feels trivial, the characters wooden. One of the stories I've been working on may have to be trunked. Or wait another six months before I can face it again. (The other one seems to be working, but once you're "blah" you only consider the bad news, right?).

I've had a headache for the whole week, not a full migraine but annoying enough. And it doesn't help that it's so dark and gloomy. I'm nocturnal, so I often wake up well into the afternoon, and then it's dark in a couple of hours... And the little day there is, is cloudy and rainy and miserable. I think SAD is aptly named, and I'm definitely suffering.

Oh well. Better stop whining.

Sympathies--I get headaches too and they pretty much sap my will to do anything but hide in bed. I'm also nocturnal by nature (I got up at 2:30 or 3 p.m. today and that's pretty typical...) so winter is hard on me too.

Hope things look up soon!

A sun lamp is what made SAD bearable for me. I don't know if you have one, but they turned me from tanking hard every year to just a slight dip in December. (Also, hi!)

Sometimes I put something over my eyes, like a tanning bed, or hold a book between me and the light and read with my hood on my hoodie up. It is pretty intense, but it's worth it for as long as you can stand. I normally do 30 minutes a day, but I live in a place that gets dark at 2pm at the height of winter.
